Santa

So today I met that guy who's suit mama made me wear for her office picture. Except I'm sure he wouldn't have fit in it. He was much bigger than me. I was pretty tired when we got there, but I held it together long enough to pose for a picture (see below). I couldn't smile though. Too much effort. But he seemed nice enough. Not sure why the girl in front of me got so scared and cried.

Angels

Today mama dressed me up in some guy named Santa's suit to be in a picture with her work people. When we came home, she let me make snow angels! Well, maybe it wasn't snow. It was the back of a satin blanket. But I don't think she'd lay me on by back in a snow bank anyway, so this was better.

Froggy friends

Here I am in the jumpy thing I mentioned a while ago. The froggy is my new friend. He smiles at me. So does the sunflower behind me. I like smiles.

Then I thought I'd throw in one picture of mama and me at Thanksgiving. I like these big bags of beans!

All night

When I woke up hungry at 5:15 this morning, momma was smiling at me, which she doesn't usually do when it's still dark outside. I wasn't sure what I did right, but she said something about how she'd missed me, because she hadn't seen me since 10 last night. (I usually see her at midnight and 3:30 a.m., but I guess I was extra tired last night.)

Today we packed into the car and drove over to See Me Valley to some elephant's bar for lunch with mom's friend Michele. She smiled at me, but I was too sleepy to work my flirt mo-jo. We also went to momma's office, and all the ladies there were mad that I was sleeping so soundly. A few tried to wake me up, but I was trying even harder to stay asleep. (I was dreaming about boobs, and no boy wants to wake up from that dream!)

I'm talking and telling short stories these days, which momma and daddy seem to like. I'll have to get a video of me posted so you can hear my latest tales. Momma's boss's wife gave me two toy trucks today, too, which mom says will be soo much fun when I can hang onto something bigger than her finger.

New thing

So my mom picked out a new thing to entertain me today, and had grandma pick it up when she was at Babies R Us. It's called a Baby Einstein™ Musical Motion Activity Jumper, whatever that means. It's pretty fun, but mom says I'll like it even more when I'm bigger. I can touch the floor, but it's still on tippy toes, which were a little scrunched today as it was because my sleeper outfit is too short. I have no idea what all the parts of it do, and mom said something about how it figures it'd take C batteries, since that's the only size we don't have. But that's OK, because my favorite part was the little red ball on the right side, which I spun with my hand over and over and stared at the little beads skipping around inside. Fascinating. I'll have to post a picture of me in it soon.

Shots stink

I decided today is as good a day as any to start my own blog. I'm 10 weeks and 1 day old, and today was my first round of shots with Evil Doctor and Wicked Nurse. I'll start with the good news — I'm growing. Today I weighed in at 16 pounds, 5-1/2 ounces, and 25 inches long. Evil Doctor did his usual mysterious tortures ... he pinned my knees under my armpits, smooshed my belly all the way to my backbone, yanked my arms, tickled my feet, shined a light in my eyes, and so on. Then he talked to mommy and daddy about how pleased he is with me.

Then the real trouble started. I was in such a good mood, talking to everyone and smiling. Then Wicked Nurse came in with a cold silver tray topped with three needles that looked like they were meant for someone even bigger than my daddy. She rubbed cold stuff on my thighs and jabbed those needles in before I knew what was going on. I was shocked and horrified, felt my face turn red and I made sure to scream for all I was worth so mommy and daddy would know that they should never let Wicked Nurse touch me again.

So, I'm not feeling to hot tonight. I woke up from a nap feeling pretty icky, so I cried the most pathetic wail I could muster for a long, long time. Daddy drove like a racehorse to the drug store to buy me some Tylenol, which I think is helping a little bit. I heard mommy say something about hoping we'd all get some sleep tonight. Yeah, right!
